Jo is a former No. 5 world-ranked tennis player. Jo made the semi-finals of Roland Garros and US Open in 1983. She was a quarter-finalist at Australian Open in 1983 and Wimbledon in 1984. Jo Won 2 Grand Slam Mixed Titles with Jeremy Bates at Wimbledon (1989) and the Australia Open (1991). Jo was also the British No.1 for 9 years.

After retiring in 1995 Jo used her invaluable experience in professional tennis to start coaching and mentoring juniors wishing to emulate Jo’s illustrious career. During her 25+ years of coaching, Jo has worked on the WTA, ITF senior and junior tours. Jo has played an integral role in the careers of 15 players that have played in Grand Slam events on both the senior and junior circuits. Jo offers a vast wealth of experience and knowledge of the standards required to reach the top of the game.

Jo is also a regular commentator for BT, Eurosport and the BBC which keeps her in touch with the players and rising standards on the Tour.
